Pretty cute! $279 BUT save 10% with promo code WTVR
I always have and I always will! Check out these new vases from z gallerie. They are $9.95 to $19.95
I love a good quilt and this one is $75 on etsy. It says that is Irish from the 1800’s, but it also looks so ikat-ey to me with the pattern and colors. I really like it oh-so-much. also for $75 is this knit blanket and lastly, the colors on this quilt couldn’t be better. It’s $95, so not cheap, but a good quilt quickly becomes a family heirloom.
Pick your letter and your color for $18!?! That’s Great. This is not the first time I have blogged about the etsy shop Edie’s Lab . They have cute stuff! And this E? So so cute. And what sophisticated colors.
A Good Freestanding Towel Rack? Nice.
This towel rack from cb2 caught my eye. I also thought it could sort of serve as a bathroom valet (you know you lay out your clothes in the bathroom too). I don’t know if that would invite clutter, but either way it’s a good piece and $79.95.
Flame Stitch Curtains
As long as we are at Urban Outfitters, I sure do like these flame stitch curtains. $34-39. And yes, I appreciate the irony that no curtains except white ones have ever lasted long at my house. Pillow shams and pottery, pillow shams and pottery. That’s what I feel comfortable being “crazy” with : ( But for you more daring folks out there, I like these : )
This Wants to Live at my House
This Pendleton blanket will cost you a pretty penny at $249, but if this bad boy ever does go on sale, like a super steep sale I would like for it to spend the rest of it’s life with me : ) I maaaay prefer a slightly simpler pattern, but still if someone was handing out pendleton blankets…. I guess I just really prefer the colors on the side that is in the first photo, over the...
Grid Media Console
Ok, so looking over today’s posts I am thinking it is not going to be an Ashley’s version of affordable day, but in the scheme of design things, it is still relatively affordable. First up, the Grid Media Console from CB2. I picked this because it is modern but different. It doesn’t look like IKEA. It isn’t mid-century. It is it’s own thing, with a nod to a peg board...
This dresser is calling my name, if only I needed another dresser. But maybe you do? I would prefer this on legs though. $299 at IKEA.
I have said it before, I am not one for having framed photos around the house. But I would love to have a few in our bedroom or on my desk. And I really really like the timeless look of these. I think these are also great default gifts. They range from $29.95 to $34.95. The Hudson double frame $34.95 and the tri-fold frame $29.95
Pixie Leaning Tower
I think this shelf is great for small spaces and small budgets. It’s modern and would look great with other mid century furniture. And $120.99? Not bad at all!
And this lamp needs to be included because I feel as if it really fits in with the other posts from today (I should have done a room mock up!). The lamp is somewhere between fancy lady and very playful. So, I will settle that it is for a playful lady who likes to pretend to be fancy : ) $199 over at Z Gallerie.
Deco Empire Headboard from UO
Well, aren’t you pretty? And it manages to have detail and be feminine without tufting. I am a sucker for tufting of course, but I appreciate other options. This headboard is $379.
This is a pretty good little lumbar pillow. It’s handmade out of jute and you can find it right here. It will cost you $45.
This guy could fit into a lot of different homes from modern to transitional. And you could put a tray on top of it and it could work as a kid friendly coffee table. It’s $165.99 right here.
Sorry I have been MIA. I have been working and enjoying the rest of summer. But I will be back September 1!!!
This Sofa Bed is $149.99
That’s craziness, right? You can find it right here at Target. Come August, if you are on a budget or in a small space it is the perfect time to start looking at home furnishings. All the “dorm room furniture” to me is just furniture that is more affordable than it usually is and there is a different selection. When I was 18 and 19 and in my first apartment it was thrift stores...
Oh Pillow Shams
I love the noncommittal nature of pillowcases. I get the best of both worlds: my love of all things white and safe and experimenting with different palettes and designs. Who knew a pillowcase could give so much? These are $39 for a set of two. My fingers are crossed that they will go on sale in the future.
I Love a Felt Storage Bin
I *just* bought a very similar one for myself and a few for my friend. For awhile it was bizarrely challenging to find an affordable felt storage container. If you have ever priced industrial felt you will learn 1) it is pricey and 2) comes in very limited colors and 3) why was I pricing industrial felt? Who knows. But now they are here and $16!
I Could Not Resist
I fought it for awhile (but not very long) this little painting had to come join my miniature landscape collection.
Nothing like an outdoor fire pit. This one is modern but affordable at $119.99 and since it is at bed bath and beyond pull out one of those million of 20% off coupons you have and it will be $95.99
Missoni For Target
I am not generally crazy-for-all-things-missoni like many people are, but I am still excited about their line at target coming at the end of September. And I DO want to find this blanket or the other ones they will have. See many more of the items at all the way up here. I am really intrigued by that blue side.
My Sister's New Dresser
Lately Friday or Saturday mornings (or oh, ok, both) have been filled with garage sales. It’s one of my favorite this.means.it’s.summer. activities to do. I am currently using the “I’m looking for wedding stuff” excuse. But really I am. I try to give myself a $10-20 budget a week and see if I can find things that are more affordable to buy then to rent. For...
IKEA for three
First, I apologize. I KNOW how much I would hate this post if I didn’t have an IKEA. But alas, I have become spoiled by having one. If it’s any conciliation I do more window shopping that actual shopping. I am really coveting a few things on this page (for starters that clock) and if I had a kid, right now that WOULD be the chair I had for them. And a lazy susan? Even for an...
SO good for someone and $450 right here
Paper Mache antlers
What a clever idea. I really think this is great. And I hope they are equally awesome in person. I like the smaller, more abstract ones that are only $19 and $29. This little guy is $19 and this one is $29
I LOVE when West Elm gets new things in. So there will be a few posts. And this Black Chronograph clock is pretty awesome. $79 right here.
I'm gonna need this vase
Look at this cute little botanical vase. $9 at west elm
More Wire Baskets!
See, it’s like “no more wire hangers”? But the opposite Eh, I tried : ) I love a good wire basket and this is a good one. $38 right here. I want to go collect kindling to store in there.
Lace Curtain on sale
This Lace curtain is down from $79.99 to $39.99. That still seems a tad much to me but I like it if you want feminine drapery but don’t have the space for two long panels. I know it’s weird to say “space” but in my guest room I want curtains but the room may feel crowded with them. And one panel that is not floor length may be the right solution for those windows : ) ...
Who knew? Maybe lots of people but not me. I like the playfulness of the pattern. Brings down the serious, but keeps of the pretty of stemware and formal glasses. $48 for a set of 4 right here Tumblers also $48 for 4
Love the color combo on this. $75 right here.
Who Doesn't Love a Kerosene Lamp?
They makes everyone feel a little nostalgic even if you’ve never been camping. And this modern porcelain take on it is fun for anyone (including a kid’s room!!) $49.99 right here.
Retro Inspired Canisters From Modcloth
It can be a challenge to find good vintage canisters at thrift stores these days. But if you’re willing to pay a bit more you can have modcloth ship you some fun retro inspired ones. $34.99 right here a smaller one for $19.99 and here is one a bit different for $29.99
Love Love Love This Coat Rack
It’s on sale for $39.99 (down from $79.00) and I have a feeling it is going to go fast. If you like it, this is one of those times I would say jump on it.
This “outdoor” chaise is at Hautelook today for $395. You need to be signed in to see it but here are some screenshots of the info below. Who’s to say this has to be outdoor only? And outdoor fabric never is a bad idea.
IKEA is not making cribs for the time being
All of IKEA’s cribs were pulled (in the US) until they comply with new regulations or something along those lines. This was to the dismay of my friend looking for an affordable crib. And there are a bajillion cities that don’t have IKEAs so I was on a hunt for an affordable, simple, modern crib for as close to $100 as I could find. SUCCESS!! (well kind of). This Storkcraft Libby Fixed...
Today was a GREAT day for garage sales. I woke up extra early and went around before I had to come back home to work. It just so happened that one of the neighborhoods was having a day of garage sales with a map to all the different locations over a few mile radius. (It was like a scavenger hunt!). I feel know I got some great deals. To start with I got 3 of these Thonet bentwood chairs for a...
Craigslist Word Search
Here are what turns up when you search oriental, asian, and chinese….you can search china too, but obviously dishes and china cabinets are what are going to come up : ) Regions and countries are a great way to search on craigslist…turkish, moroccan, etc. This antique dresser is $200 vintage chinese basket from the 1950’s for $15 (great for kindling and firewood) ...
Reader Question :Lamp Shades
This is a bit overdue, but a reader recently asked me about vintage lamps and finding the right lamp shade for them, since let’s face it, usually vintage shades are gross, stained, or make the lamp look like a thrifted lamp versus a modern statement piece. I pretty much always prefer drum shades. I don’t like when shades slope as a general rule. And a white, black, or natural linen...
A Bit Contemporary
This chair may not be my exact style, but I think it is a strong piece that would work in SO.MANY.PEOPLE’S.HOME. And since it’s simple, it can take on so many different personalities depending on it’s surroundings. And it is TOUGH to find a non-vintage chair for under $200. The sell out risk is high on this one and when it comes back I imagine the price will be raised by about...
Paint by Numbers
I have a strange relationship with paint by numbers. I love them, but then I will decide I am “over” them, only to have crushes on them all over again. I am in the crush phase right now : ) And both of these are $10!!! The colors are fantastic in both of them. dog horse
Chair Sweet Chair
There is a good chance I have blogged about this chair before, but it really is so good. And while $173.99 per chair is not cheap the chair is wonderfully timeless. And it’s overstock…there are promo codes to be found!
Bell Butter Dish
I think this new butter dish from west elm is super sweet and $16. I don’t know many people that really have a special designated butter dish, but the shape lends itself to cheese as well. And if you’re eating outside, the more covered the better.
Butterfly Tray Table
A cute, affordable, and versatile piece? Yup. Right here for $104.99
SO, right now at Target select Morning star products are on sale for $2.99 each. If you look under Target Coupons there is a $1 off 2 packages of morning star products. Print one or two of those. Then print 2 of these morning star manufacturer’s coupon for $1 off 1 pack of morning star products. You can stack a manufacturer’s coupon with a store coupon. If you buy 2 packs of morning...
I enjoy this clock
and it’s $39.99 from Modcloth. You can find it right here.
Unconventional Wedding Bands
It’s not the engagement that has made me ring crazy. I actually many many moons ago wrote a long post about very affordable engagement rings/ wedding bands…and the computer crashed : ( BUT these rings weren’t on my list and I LOVE them. I will wear three rings (I have two of the three but not the wedding band yet) because I prefer the look of it and it must be genetic...
I really think this idea from my Life as a Sugar Lander is great. It is 1) simple 2) affordable and 3) easy to diversify. I think monochromatic in blushes or corals would be so pretty! Weddings, parties, holidays, this project suits it all
